For me, Photography has a duty to document history, both to preserve the memories of the past and to learn from them. However, I feel that throughout time, certain moments in history get forgotten, potentially, and reasonably, due to trends changing and situations calling for different demands.
Something that I hold personally is the history regarding the Second World War, as members of my family spent their childhoods in the aftermath of the War. Being able to capture the diverse types of buildings & what streets would have looked like is something truly special. Brutalism is something that had seemingly fallen through the cracks & has slowly been forgotten until recently. My aim for this series is to not only document, but share and reveal how, i believe, brutalism to be just as present, profound and impactful as it was when it was first Introduced and popularized.
